Monday
The river is looking great. Water levels are at 375 fps and water clarity is clear. It has been pretty dry around hear in the last month or so. This has the river level down lower than it has been in a couple of years. Low water makes for some great high stick nymphing opportunites. Wading is easier and spotting fish is so much easier. The Spring River is full of caddis and mayfly nymphs right now. Get out and have some fun. The cold water feels perfect wet wading.

Friday
The Spring River is running at 400cfs and water clarity is good. On a full day float on thursday Y2ks were the fly of the day. We also caught some on mayfly emerger imitations. Some places were hot and some were not. I would recommend moving around alot when fishing this time of year. They will usually be schooled togather when you find some trout. It it seems like ya can't get a bite work your way down or up river. Fish are always biting on the Spring River.

Monday
The water is looking good. Mayfly nymphs and Y2ks have been doing well. The real trick to catching fish this week has been getting away from the pressured areas. Float trips have been doing really well. Get it down deep. The trout have been holding in deeper pockets during this heat.

Saturday
Had a little rain last night but nothing bad. The water isn't perfectly clear but it is looking really good. The spring is running 400cfs which is really low levels. And as hot as it is, it's a great time to be wading in the Spring River and fly fishing for trout. The Arkansas game & fish stock the river weekly with 11in rainbow trout. Here is a pic of a rainbow caught last week on one of my big coachman flies..

Friday
The river is looking great. Not perfectly clear but then again it rarely is. Y2ks have been the hot fly. Today is overcast and just looks fishy outside. I think it would be a great day to get out and trick a big brown into taking a fly. Come by the shop and I'll tell ya where I would go.....

Monday
We had heavy rains here in Mammoth on Sunday afternoon. The Warm Fork is running muddy this morning but the spring itself is still running clear. Usually the Warm Fork will clear up in 1-2 days. Curtis Anthony of OK caught a big fish on Sunday on a float trip with me. The trout were hitting my big coachman down deep. After lunch as the front was moving in the fish turned off. Stay tuned for updates on current conditions.

Saturday
I had a great walk-in trip this morning. One of my clients hooked up with a 3plus pound rainbow at Dam 3. He wasn't able to hold it long enough to get a picture but we all got to see it. It attacked a big brownie. We had the most luck on Y2ks. The river is running low and clear.

Friday
We got alot of much needed rain today. But don't worry the river is still running low and clear. I had a float trip today and got real wet. We caught fish but they were turned off a little by all the rain. This weekend should be great. Cotton Candy has been the hot fly this week. But then again everybody loves cotton candy....

Monday
River conditions are still running perfect. The fish seem to be right on the bottom the last couple of weeks. Ticking the bottom is the way to get after the big ones. The Go-Go nymph and my minnow pattern have been the trick the last couple of weeks. Smallies have been hitting good on white bead head woollies. Hit the shore and strip it back. Sometimes fast sometimes strip, strip pause...

Friday
The Spring River is running low and clear. I had a full day float on thursday with my business partner Dale and we caught fish all day. We didn't catch any lunkers but had a great time using my mayfly emerger nymph. It was so important to get it down to the bottom. We didn't have much luck fishing shallow water the fish were all in the deeper sections where they could get out of the sun. The weather has cooled off a little here and the fishing conditions are perfect.

Wednesday
Water levels are at 380cfs, really low, and water clarity is clear. With the water low and clear like it is, the sight fishing has been really good on the river. I have been using alot of my mayfly emergers lately and can see the fish coming after the fly and the take. Wading right now is at it's best. I have been able to get back to areas that were normally to deep and swift to wade. I have been doing really well smallmouth and rockbass fishing also. I have been using my minner with a cone head and casting along the shoreline with either a fast strip back or a strip, strip, stop retreive. It is a great time to be on the spring river right now. Conditions are perfect....

Saturday
Water conditions are perfect. Water levels are below 390cfs and water clarity is clear. Grandma's Brownies and Go-Go nymphs have been doing really good. Weekends can be crowded but through the week is perfect. High stick nymphing is at it's best right now with the water low like it is. Time to go fishing....

Monday
Well I'm back from the Smokies and I must say I'm glad to be back home. If you go to the Smokies to fly fish drive over the mountain to the Cherokee reservation and fish their catch and release area. I saw some big fish and caught some nice rainbows. It was an awesome stretch of water. Everywhere else had 6 to 8 inch fish....
The water levels here on the Spring River are at 400cfs. That is the lowest water levels of the year. Water clarity is clear. Perfect conditions. It is really hot this week so be sure to stay hydrated. I will be out on the river tomorrow and will give and update on what's hot wednesday....

Saturday
River conditions are at their best. Water is running 440cfs and water clarity is great. When ya come up thru the week usually you will have the river to yourself. There are so many places to fish that a person can always find somewhere to get away from people. It's time to go fishing. Get out the fly rods and head this way...

Wednesday
The Spring River just keeps getting better and better. Water levels are below 440cfs which is perfect wading levels. Water clarity is great. I had a float trip on Monday and Today. My coachman fly fished down and deep caught fish all day but we also had great success with cotton candy, my shrimp pattern. Walkin trips can be a little tuffer due to pressure but the float trips are hard to believe. Lots of fish and fantastic conditions. I will be out of the shop next week on vacation from sunday to sunday. June 13-20. The shop will be open and my flies will be available. Give me a call and book a trip with me for when I get back, I will be ready to put ya on some fish. Tightlines and practice catch and release,

Friday
Its a beautiful day out today. The weather forecast is perfect for this weekend and water levels are down to 450cfs and water clarity is good. It would be a great time to come up and enjoy the Spring River. If your worried about canoes getting in the way, a person can fish in town at Mammoth and no one canoes from the spring to dam 3. During the week things are perfect to fish on the whole river.... I hope everyone get to come up and enjoy the river...
